Idaho State University, Institute of Rural Health

As the State’s health sciences institute of higher learning, ISU is uniquely positioned to provide and facilitate education, service, and research opportunities across all disabilities. The IRH is located within the Kasiska College of Health Professions at ISU. Its mission is to improve the health of rural communities in Idaho and the Intermountain Region, as well as the nation and the world through research, education, and service. With strong collaborative relationships and longstanding cooperative ties, IRH faculty and staff members served and continue to serve as the frontline “field team” for the TBI State Planning and Implementation grants, as well as for the Real Choices grants. As the subcontracting unit, the IRH works in cooperation with the IDHW to develop goals and a work plan, and to submit non-competitive renewal applications to the funding agency. Quarterly progress reports are provided to the IDHW and are reviewed and approved by an FACS-appointed staff member, Cameron Gilliland, who participates as an ex-officio member of the TBI Advisory Council.
